Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing University of Agriculture (BUA)
The Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing University of Agriculture
(BUA), mainly responsible for the international exchange and
cooperation among universities and colleges across the world, is
directly supervised by the university authority. The Office
bears such duties as the following:
1. Establishing academic relationship with institutions of
higher learning overseas.
Aiming to enhance international coordination, the office has
already developed academic ties with institutions all over the
world. Starting from 2005, BUA have established academic
relationships with a total of over 50 institutions in 20
countries, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, France,
Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel,
Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, UK, and
USA.
2. Making plan of high-level visit abroad and receiving
international guests and visitors.
As a gateway to the outside, the office contributes more to all
the affairs concerning visits and reception of foreign experts
and guests.
3. Exploring important international cooperative programs.
With the country's rapid development in higher education and
economic growth, overseas institutions have sought collaboration
with BUA on academic programs. The office provide oversight for
the cooperative programs and to function as the advisory body in
formulating the signing the formal agreements between BUA and
foreign institutions, including planning and drafting exchange
agreements, tracking and managing the implementation and
progress of exchange programs
5. Employing foreign teachers and experts and providing daily
life consultation.
5. Facilitating exchange programs to the student of BUA
BUA is home to over 7,000 students, of whom many seek
opportunities to study overseas. The office now has signed
agreements of exchanging students with the universities with
Australian, UK, Japan, Poland and USA. This year about 30
students have benefited from the programs.
6.
Assisting the international school with the affairs of
overseas students.
The office is now also providing the service of recruitment.

involves providing information to foreign students; coordinating
the improvement and maintenance of the English environment on
campus and on website and etc.
7. Managing faculty overseas academic training.
Since 2005, the office has been taking on an increasingly active
role in serving the teachers. For improving teaching and
scientific research level, the office implements the agreement
on faculty exchange programs between BUA and other institutions
in order to facilitate international cooperation, to update the
teaching and academic research. More than 30 teachers have been
sent overseas for professional and language training.
